Short & Sweet

Good morning, Happy Monday.

Yes, most of us would probably rather have it be Friday again but it’s not so that is why I wish you a Happy Monday.

It is what it is.

Today is going to be short and sweet here on my blog, I just thought I’d show you a few of the ‘captures’ from this last week. I have so many more than this, if you really knew, you’d laugh at me.

I’m so thankul for the digital age, otherwise I’d be in the poor house this time of year buying film.

This is just a field right? Growing Milo? I think its milo anyway. The colors & the textures grabbed my attention & sucked me in.

Ahhh and this one. Another caught at the wildlife preserve before my day at work began.

It was so awesome to wrap myself not only in the beauty but in the peace of that morning.

My senses were rejoicing. My eyes taking in the beauty, my nose smelling the freshness of the day and my ears listening to the quiet with the occassional cry from a crow or a hawk.

I could have stayed there all day and soaked it all in.

I always give thanks to the one who gave us this beautiful world.

Wildlife in the Morning

Sometimes I read about places people have been, or even where they live and I see pictures of these places and ‘wanderlust’ strikes hard.

I want to see things, go places, enjoy this world of ours in all its beauty.

And then a morning like the other morning comes about and again, I remember to be thankful for the area I live in.

I wake up earlier than normal for work, grab G2 (my camera, yes thats its name, hubby is G1) and I head out.

I am fortunate to work close to a wildlife preserve, Busch’s Wildlife.

Its an area of many lakes and walking trails. The scenery is beautiful nature.

It isn’t anything spectacular, there are no mountains, no canyons, no oceans, no craggy rock formations. Just the outdoor basics.

Its a place of peace, to be quiet with nature.

Wait, did I say it isn’t anything spectacular?

Well, maybe I was wrong….

I am wrong once a year.

Ok, maybe more than that…<cough> slightly more.

As I walked from the lake, back to my car, the crisp morning air wrapped around me and made me feel alive,

 and thankful.

This earth is our gift and we should appreciate all of its wonders.

The utter quiet of the morning was shattered by their calls, it was a stark reminder that autumn approaches.

I am fortunate to live in a place of seasons.

(Remind me of that in February ok?)

I drove the gravel roads, from one lake to another, admiring the different ways the beauty glowed in the early morning light.

Then the clouds moved in, and covered the sun.

Did you know the best time to photograph outside is on an overcast day?

Unless of course you are photographing the sun.

Then maybe not so much.

I digress.

I broke out my Macro lens, just a few more shots,

its getting to be that time,

time to go to work.

I doubt there are many better ways to start one’s day.

Earlier, when I said ‘nothing spectacular’,

 well

I guess that depends on when

 and where

 and how you see it.

Guess who is unemployed now…..

Yep, Spiderman.

On my recent business trip to California I came across Spiderman on a Pier playing the guitar for tips! What has this world come to when even Spiderman can’t even find a job?!

But then again, there is a lot of crime in the world today so he should have plenty to do.

Maybe the stress of his job is getting to him. I’m sure he’s tired of seeing the evils of this world, he does after all, work in a very toxic environment. Day in and day out he sees people treating each other so poorly, it would surely take a toll on ones’ psyche.

Maybe hes not unemployed at all, he’s just taking some time for himself. I could see where standing in the sunshine on a beautiful beach, the rhythm of the waves coming in and out, seeing people enjoing life while strumming tunes on a guitar could be therapeutic.

Yep, I could see that.
