Ok, just to get this straight first thing, I am not one of those people chasing movie stars or hotel heiresses to get the latest scoop or picture or anything of the sort. I mean, I live in the midwest after all. When is the last time anyone famous prowled around the midwest? I guess you could count George Clooney when he was here in St. Louis for the filming for “Up in the Air” but see, I wasnt even stalking him trying to get pictures. Then there’s Nelly, he’s from the area but I dont think me and Nelly hang at the same places. Although I do know someone who met Nelly’s mom! (Does that count? No? I didnt think so.) So, thats not where the nickname ‘Mamarazzi’ came from.
It actually came from one of my kids. I have 2 step daughters who each gave us 2 grandchildren, and I have 2 daughters, one in college, the other in high school. Oh, and a Rottweiller named Rocko. Basically, I almost always have my camera in hand and so the kids jokingly named me the Mamarazzi.
I have many interests. I’m not joking. I believe I have adult A.D.D., I dont tend to stay with any one thing very long. That is one reason I’m starting this blog. It gives me an outlet for my many interests, writing, photography, cooking (although I’m not a fan of complicated stuff), pets & Nature, and some other interests I plan on evolving into this site as time goes by.
I try my best to be a positive, upbeat person who tries to avoid drama. But, having said that, I, just like everyone else, need to vent occassionally. So although rare, you may see an occassional vent, because I know its human and you may be able to relate but in the end, we’ll try to see the lighter side of things, you know…the positive side.

Hi! I lived in St. Louis for ten years (my parents are still there), and the stunning picture of the arch you have in your sidebar completely caught my attention! My mom could also qualify as Mamarazzi – such a cute nickname! I’ve subscribed, and look forward to keeping up.

I stopped by to ck out your blog after you so kindly made a comment on mine yesterday. I immediately noticed your interest in photography, which is one of my hobbies as well. Unfortunately, I don’t have a camera just yet so I’ve been a bit repressed from snapping shots. I enjoyed the pictures you have especially the ones of your family! May I ask, what type of camera are you using? Just curious, I used to have a compact CyberShot that handled most types of shots nicely. Thanks! LB

I use a Pentax K200D. Its a few years old and have a few different lenses, nothing fancy though. I’m purely self taught. Through reading books, internet, my boring camera instructions (this is very important) and learning a few post processing tricks you can produce some good photos. Most importanatly thought you need the eye and there are even books on how to properly capture an image. <a
this was one of the blogs I wrote about using my Blackberry camera phone. Bottom line, and I’m not an expert, a good camera helps but only if you truely “see” the picture before you take it. Thank you for stopping by, hope to see you again soon!

I love the feel of your page! And the photography was thoroughly enjoyed. Too bad you live in the midwest, I could use a photographer over here on the east coast!
